HELS

The functional concept of a contemporary library has recently gained new social, cultural and political values.
Our proposal appears as a soft, organic embryo shape that is inserted into the urban landscape as a passage gate which expands the public space through and beyond the building. It’s shape should no longer have a clearly defined meaning, but rather encourage a continuous transformation, evolution, mobility, inquisitiveness. Much like the initial stage of development of human beings: the embryo. Our undefined shape symbolizes man’s need of stimuli, its keen nature and need of social and cultural interaction.
